Online Lab Kit Information

General Information

Online sections of some Natural Science courses require lab kits. These lab kits will ensure that course competencies are met and that students who register for an online course receive, to the fullest extent possible, the same educational experience that they would have received if they had registered for a course with a traditional seated lab.

The cost of the lab kit was billed to your student account when you registered for the course. If you receive Pell Grant (FASFA), Vocational Rehab, WIOA or College Foundation Scholarships, the cost of your kit should be covered depending on the amount of the grant or scholarship you are awarded.

Some Federal Student Aid, such as the GI Bill does not cover the additional charge. As a result, you will have to pay the lab kit fee to remain in good standing with the college. In-person payments are accepted at the Main Campus Business Office, Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River. Payments can also be completed through Self-Service or by calling the Business office at (910) 938-6342.

**Important** Once a lab kit has been opened, it cannot be returned to the bookstore, even if you only "looked" inside. We recommend that you do not open your kit until your first lab is assigned. Once opened, vouchers are also non-returnable. However, if you have redeemed your voucher and received your kit but it remains unopened, it can be returned.

Lab Kit Pickup and Shipping

In-store Pickup

You may pick up your kit or voucher from the bookstore at no additional charge. Kits and vouchers will be available for pickup five (5) calendar days before the beginning of the session in which you are enrolled. This means if you are enrolled in a late start session you cannot pick up your lab kit at the beginning of the full semester.

Please bring your student ID and your schedule information. A paper copy of your schedule can be obtained from the Registrar’s office across from the bookstore.

Shipping (Domestic and International)

If you are unable to pick up your lab kit or voucher from the bookstore, you can pay to have it shipped to you. Shipping charges vary based on the kit and its destination. Using our Textbook Search, you will navigate to the online lab in which you are enrolled and add the “Lab Kit Shipping” item to your cart and check out as normal. It can take up to 48 hours for the kit to leave campus. Lab kits cannot be shipped to PO boxes.

If you need to have your kit shipped outside of the US, please contact bookstore@coastalcarolina.edu and provide the course you are enrolled in and the shipping address. We will provide additional instructions in our reply.
